The Art Contest
This contest was open to all students in elementary grades one through four, including students from private and public schools as well as home-schooled students.
Theme: Our Global Family/The Global Village
Our theme for our 2nd Annual Art Contest was "Our Global Family/The Global Village." We all have an image in our minds of what a stereotypical family looks like, where they live, and what they own. However, what a family values in one country may not be what a family values in another. And yet, despite our differences, there are also many similarities. What do the families and homes of ordinary people look like around the globe? What do you value as a family? What should we value as a global family? How are we all part of a global village or community?
The subject of the artwork entry is to be a personal expression of "Our Global Family/The Global Village" to the student and may be in either descriptive or abstract form.
Participation: Entrants will be divided into two groups by grade:
-
Group A-1st and 2nd grades, as of May 1, 2006
-
Group B-3rd and 4th grades, as of May 1, 2006
Entry Requirements:
-
Only one piece per student.
-
Entry may be a painting, drawing, collage, or other 2-dimensional work only.
-
Only electronic files will be accepted; photos or scanned images of artwork must be submitted in jpeg format. Files may be emailed or sent on CD. We will not accept hard copies of artwork. Winners, however, will be required to submit the original artwork.
