The Art Contest

TAP is pleased to invite students in first through fourth grades to participate in our first annual art contest. This includes students from private and public schools and home schooled students. All students who instinctively enjoy the creative process are encouraged to participate.

Theme: Peace/A World of Peace

Students learn and internalize stereotypes at a very young age; as a teacher and/or parent you can help open minds and hearts. Our theme for this year's inaugural art contest is "A World of Peace". This world can take many forms but the most important thing to remember is that peace can only come when we learn how to accept and learn from our differences while celebrating our commonalities. We ask you to let your students or students have a voice in what such a world would look like, for they and their visions are our futures.

The subject of the artwork is to be a personal expression of the word "PEACE" to the student and may be either descriptive or abstract form.

Participation: Entrants will be divided into two groups by grade:

  • Group A—1st and 2nd grades

  • Group B—3rd and 4th grades

Entry Requirements

  • Only one piece per student.

  • Entry may be a painting, drawing, collage, and other 2-dimensional work only.

Prizes: First and second place prizes will be awarded.

  • First place: $100 U.S. Savings Bonds

  • Second place: $50 U.S. Savings Bond

Only electronic files will be accepted; photos or scanned images of artwork must be submitted in jpeg format. Files may be emailed or sent on CD.

Artwork will be judged on originality of design and clarity of theme/message.
